Pecos River Advisory Committee
The purpose of the Pecos River Advisory Committee is to advise and be a sounding board for projects along the Pecos River in Texas including the Pecos River Ecosystem Project and the Pecos River Basin Assessment Program.
The mission of the Pecos River Advisory Committee is to improve water quality and quantity of the Pecos River, to research, develop, and implement wildlife habitat improvement and agricultural practices unique to the Pecos River in Texas.
The Pecos River Advisory Committee is made up of local landowners, agricultural producers, water improvement and irrigation districts, soil and water conservation districts, and county government officials. The group is supported with technical assistance from state and federal agencies including Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Texas AgriLife Research, Texas Department of Agriculture, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Water Development Board, Pecos River Compact Commission, Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, Texas Forest Service, US Bureau of Reclamation, US Army Corps of Engineers, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
